「次いで七日目になり、彼らは早く、夜が明けるとすぐに起き、これまでのようにして都市の周りを七回行進していった。その日だけ都市の周りを七回行進した。そして七回目のこと、祭司だちが角笛を吹くと、ヨシュアは民に向かってこう言った。「叫べ。エホバはこの都市をあなた方にお与えになったのだ。そして、この都市は滅びのために捧げられたものとされなければならない。それは、そこにある一切の物と共にエホバのものとなる（…）」。それで民たちは叫び声を上げた。それは〔祭司〕たちが角笛を吹きはじめた時であった。そして、民が角笛の音を聞き、民が大きなときの声を上げはじめるや、すぐに城壁は崩れ落ちていった。そののち民は、各々自分の前をまっすぐに進んで市内に入り、その都市を攻め取った。」

［《And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city. And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD（…）. So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.》
